MECHANICSBURG
William Hurd, age 74, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was born in Shelbyville on June 30, 1946 to Monty B. Hurd and Joan (Blue) Hurd. He graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1964. He served in the United States Air Force as a Sargent for four years. He married Brenda L. Hopper on March 21, 1970 in Philadelphia, Indiana. William worked as a truck driver for over 20 years.
He is survived by his children, William Hurd (Paige), Bryan Hurd, and Robert Hurd; grandchildren, Billy Hurd, Damian Hurd, Chance Williams, Branson Williams, and Jasmine Hurd; dogs, Trixie and Daisy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monty and Joan; wife, Brenda; and sisters, Barbara Robinson and Betty Hurd.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Park Cemetery, 621 S. State Street, Greenfield, Indiana. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
