Kenneth Neal Mattox, age 92, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. He was youngest of 4 children born to Wm Brade & Maggie Mattox, of Oak Grove, TN. He gave his heart to JESUS CHRIST as a child.

He attended several churches in his life, Oak Grove Church, Fountaintown Christian Church, The House of Prayer, and Brookville Road Community Church.

He served in WW2 with the USAF, worked for TWA, Indianapolis Fire Department, and retired as Lt in the Arson Dept. He received multiple awards and accommodations thru out his career with the Fire Dept. He built houses, did excavating, worked for Jen-Air, delivered new fire trucks to other states, and even worked for a fireplace co.

He married Wanda Bates. They had 1 son, Norman Mattox and 2 daughters, Pam Olds Collins & Sandy Winchester. Wanda passed away.

He married again to Ardella Riddle and added 4 more children, Sandy (Phil) Kashat, Jackie Kirkwood, Billie (Doug) Todd, Brian (Charlotte) Kirkwood.

Ken is survived by wife of 30 1/2 years, Ardella; daughters, Pam Olds Collins, Sandy (Phil) Kashat, Jackie Kirkwood, Billie (Doug) Todd; son, Brian (Charlotte) Kirkwood; grandchildren, Kim (Jason) Dodson, Dan (Ashley) Olds, Travis Winchester, Michelle (Tim) Hepfer, Kirsten (Chris) Richardson, Mark, Candice, David, Christian, & Mary Todd, Trent (Katelyn) Kirkwood, Mallory Kirkwood; great grandchildren, Autumn (Brian) Potter, Kris Olds, Savanna Puckett, Kaden Anderson, Catie, Erika & Mackenzie Olds, Tyler, Jackson & Jacob Hepfer, Makayla Heiny, Jason and Hailey Richardson; and great great-grandchildren Erik & Cash Potter, special nephews, Larry (Sharon) Perdue, Alan Perdue, Steve and David Mattox.

Relatives that passed on before him were his parents, Brade & Maggie; wife, Wanda; son, Norman; daughter, Sandy; son-in-law, Rex Collins; sister, Mimi Perdue (Fount) Johnson; brothers, Bill (Mable) Perdue and Jake (Gloria) Mattox; and numerous wonderful cousins.

Life is too to be without JESUS as your LORD AND SAVIOR. Give HIM 1ST PLACE in your heart, your life, your thoughts, and words.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. also at the mortuary. Military rites will be presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
