Staff Reports

HANCOCK COUNTY — There’s no doubt about it: Summer 2020 wasn’t so great.

But if all goes well, this summer will be a celebration of getting back to a more laid-back, care-free lifestyle.

The trend toward resuming activities is reflected in the number of summer camps and other activities that are opening back up to give children — and their parents — a renewed sense of freedom over summer break.

Here is a list of opportunities taking place throughout Hancock County. If you know of other summer camps in the area that are not listed here, you can email information to the Daily Reporter at [email protected].

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF HANCOCK COUNTY

Summer Camp

After delaying and decreasing last year’s summer camp due to COVID, the Boys & Girls Clubs is back in action this year, providing a day camp that includes activities like swimming, arts, sports and hiking. The camp also incorporates weekly themes and special field trips.

The camp will operate 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays, in one-week sessions running from June 7 through July 23.

Drop-off is from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m., and pickup is from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. each day at the club, 715 E. Lincoln St. in Greenfield. Club facilities are handicap-accessible.

The cost for camp is $75 for each one-week session.
