Sugar Creek Township Fire Department battalion chief Charlie Brown, left, and Lt. Dustin Dishman monitor the outside of a former home in New Palestine being burned as part of a training exercise. Six recruits and an instructor were inside the structure at the corner of U.S. 52 and County Road 600W for the training on Tuesday. Chief Brandon Kleine was also on hand and said any time a firefighter can get “hands-on training” it’s the best and is always a great learning experience.
