HANCOCK COUNTY — The county added a fatality to its COVID-19 death toll Friday, raising the total to 142.

The victim was a woman in her 40s who died on May 12, according to information from the Indiana State Department of Health.

Hancock County added 16 COVID-19 cases Friday, raising that total to 8,325.

Indiana added 16 deaths, raising its total to 13,049; and 925 cases, for a total of 733,591.

Nearly 33,000 Hancock County residents age 12 and older were fully vaccinated from COVID-19 as of early Friday. More than 36,000 have received the first dose of a two-dose vaccine series, almost 55% of the county’s 12-and-older population.

Statewide, more than 2.2 million were fully vaccinated and almost 2.5 million first doses had been administered, more than 42% of Hoosiers 12 and older.
