GREENFIELD — An exhibit called the Art of Charlie Parish will open May 14 in Lizabuth Ann’s Kitchen behind the James Whitcomb Riley Boyhood Home, 250 W. Main St. The public is invited to a reception for the artist from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will run through May 28. The show is open to the public from 11 a.m. through 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street will host Mutts on Main, from noon to 5 p.m. May 15 in the Living Alley (North Street between State and Pennsylvania). The event includes live music, food trucks, vendors, crafts for the kids and a costumed pet parade. Pre-registeration is $15 per dog at the Greenfield Main Street: Mutts on Main Facebook page. Walk-up registration in $20 per dog.

GREENFIELD — The Friends of Hancock County Public Library will conduct a gently used book sale from May. 14 through 16 at the Greenfield location, 900 W. McKenzie Road. In addition to hardback and paperback books, the sale will include audio books, DVDs and CDs. A members-only sale will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 13, but walk-ins can join the organization for $15 and shop the preview that night. Membership forms are available across from the library circulation desk. The sale is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. May 14, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 15 and 1 to 3:30 p.m. May 16. Most hardbacks cost a dollar, and paperbacks cost 50 cents. Children’s books are 50 cents and 25 cents. DVDs, CDs and audio books are $1. Bargain day is from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 17. A standard paper grocery bag full of books sells for $3, a plastic grocery bag for $2. Proceeds from the quarterly book sale fund free concerts and children’s special events. GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street will host its first Food Truck Friday on May 14. Find food trucks and vendors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Courthouse Plaza. GREENFIELD – The Hancock County Historical Society, will host a quilt exhibition from 1 to 5 p.m., May 15 and 16 at the Chapel in the Park, 28 N. Apple. Quilts will be on display from Zig Zag Corner and the Mt. Comfort Quilt Guild. Admission is $5 at the door. The event will feature vintage quilts, demonstrations and giveaways. SHIRLEY – Shirley Visionaries will host its annual Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 15 at the Octagon House, 404 S. Railroad St. The event includes food, music, vendors and strawberries. Featured musical entertainment will be the Shawn Moore Band from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Willow Branch Band from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and from 2:45 to 4 p.m., John Gilmore and Rod Schindler.
