Revival, concert coming to Charlottesville Friends

CHARLOTTESVILLE — Charlottesville Friends Church will have an old-fashioned revival May 2-5.

The speaker will be Dr. Ron Smith, president of Francis Asbury Society of Wilmore, Kentucky. Song leader will be J.D. Akers, and instrumentalists will be Rowena Holliday and Janet Shutt.

Services begin at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday-May 5.

Revival Road Quartet will be in concert from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

The church is on the left side of Carthage Road, south of U.S. 40.

Pork chop dinner is drive-thru this year

MOHAWK — Mohawk United Methodist Church’s annual Pork Chop Dinner County Fair Style is back this year, but in a drive-thru format.

It runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday (May 1) at the church, 2045 N. County Road 400W, Greenfield.

Pork chops and pork burgers will be served with sides and dessert.

A free-will offering will be accepted.

Chick-fil-A to make Fortville stop

FORTVILLE — The Chick-Fil-A tent will be up at Fortville Farmers Market starting May 13.

Its presence throughout the summer at the market, which takes place in the parking lot of Fortville Church of the Nazarene, will be a fundraiser for the church’s student ministry. Fifteen percent of the proceeds will go toward summer events and activities for the youth.

You can buy a regular or spicy chicken sandwich, along with various salad/fruit or wrap options — with chips, not fries. Find menu options at “Chick-fil-A at FortNaz” on Facebook.

Mercy Table set for May 22

FORTVILLE — The next Mercy Table community meal is set for noon to 2 p.m. May 22 at Mercy Road Church Northeast, 611 Vitality Drive in Fortville.

Organizers say it is open to the public and to come as you are.

Local ministry provides furnishings to needy

GREENFIELD — A furniture ministry out of Faith Baptist Church, 1489 E. County Road 600N, provides household furnishings to families in need.

Love INC works closely with the church’s furniture ministry.

Beds of queen size or smaller, as well as appliances such as clothes washers and dryers, are among the items most often needed. Those wishing to donate appliances and furniture are asked to contact Love INC at 317-468-6300.

Pantry can use chili ingredients, paper products

McCORDSVILLE — Angel Connection Food Pantry is open from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

Items can also be donated during that time. Needed items include chili ingredients such as tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, seasoning and macaroni/spaghetti; canned meats such as chicken, tuna or beef stew; canned sloppy Joe mix; condiments such as mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise; any kind of crackers; cereal; cleaning supplies; dish soap; and paper products such as tissues, toilet paper and paper towels.
