CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock Community School Corporation will consider a contract for its new superintendent at its upcoming meeting, which will take place on May 3.

The corporation has been interviewing a variety of candidates for the superintendent position following current superintendent Dave Pfaff’s announcement that he will be retiring from the position at the end of this school year. Pfaff, a former longtime principal of Eastern Hancock High School, came out of retirement to lead the corporation in 2019.

Eastern Hancock plans to hire the superintendent candidate for a three-year term beginning on July 1, 2021 and ending in June of 2024. The contract includes an annual base salary of $117,000.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Eastern Hancock Administration Building. Members of the public are invited to comment on the contract at that time.
