To the editor:
This is a letter of support for the sheriff’s proposal for hiring jailers and salary increases for deputies. Hancock County is safe, and the police are responsive. Some voters may not fully appreciate the value of this and having an excellent police force until you don’t have it. So I support the sheriff’s request and thank you for your service.
