GREENFIELD — When you donate blood, it’s screened for COVID antibodies. You can help someone else and find also out whether you might have had the virus and been asymptomatic.

A blood drive is set for 3 to 6 p.m. April 5 at the southwest corner of Main and Pennsylvania streets — across from Bradley United Methodist Church, 210 W. Main St.

Drive-thru for Lenten meals this year

FORTVILLE — A drive-thru fish fry fundraiser is planned for Fridays during Lent at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Serving begins at 5 p.m. and continues until the fish are gone. The $10 dinner includes a fish sandwich, steak fries, coleslaw and homemade dessert.

The church is located at 523 S. Merrill St.

The fish fries are sponsored by Knights of Columbus chapter 15712.

Bible study available in person, on Zoom

GREENFIELD — Trinity Park United Methodist Church is offering a Bible study during Lent using the book “Seven Words” by Susan Robb.

The study meets at 10 a.m. Tuesdays in the Ministry Center at the church, 207 W. Park Ave.

Good Friday service set in Shirley

SHIRLEY — Community Ministerial Alliance, a group of Shirley-area churches, will have a community Good Friday service at 7 p.m. April 2 at Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church, 309 South St., Shirley.

Ron Ferguson, pastor of Grant City Wesleyan Church, will be the speaker.

The Community Ministerial Alliance has been sponsoring a Good Friday service and a Thanksgiving service for about 20 years, first as a Shirley ministerial alliance but later under its current name.

The group typically rotates locations for these community services. Pastors from the churches involved take turns delivering the sermon. Other churches often offer some other part of the service, such as a song or a poem.

Participating churches are Christ Fellowship Church, Grant City Wesleyan Church, Shirley Christian Church, Shirley Friends Church, Shirley Church of the Nazarene, Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church and Wilkinson Church of Christ. You do not have to attend one of those churches to go to the service.

Pantry can use chili ingredients, paper products

McCORDSVILLE — Angel Connection Food Pantry is open from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

Items can also be donated during that time. Needed items include chili ingredients such as tomatoes, tomato sauce, beans, seasoning and macaroni/spaghetti; canned meats such as chicken, tuna or beef stew; canned sloppy Joe mix; condiments such as mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise; any kind of crackers; cereal; cleaning supplies; dish soap; and paper products such as tissues, toilet paper and paper towels.

Chicken noodle dinner is drive-thru

WILLOW BRANCH — A drive-thru chicken noodle dinner is set for 4 to 7 p.m. April 24 at Willow Branch United Methodist Church.
