FORTVILLE — Family, Career and Community Leaders of America at Mt. Vernon High School recently sent “Smiles in a Bag” to the patients at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. Members created bags for both adults and children filled with candy, journals, coloring books, surgery dolls, cards and other fun items. The members of “Smiles in a Bag” dropped off 100 bags total to the hospital.

Headed up by Trinity Ellis, Emily Harvey, Helena Rovira Resino, and Mackenzie Beeler, members of FCCLA participated in creating cards and making the surgery dolls for the “Smiles in a Bag” grant project . The project was funded by a grant through INSPIRE3, sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals.
