Thelma Ann (Roberts) Hylton Middleton, age 94, of Angola, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She was born in Greenfield on May 4, 1926 to Harlan Andrew Roberts and Edna Marie (Sweezy) Roberts Sexson. She graduated from McCordsville High School. She married Melvin Hylton on July 12, 1947 and following his passing married Clarence Middleton on March 13, 1979.

Thelma was a homemaker for her family and was a member of the Moose Lodge for 50 years. She loved living at the lake and going fishing. Thelma also enjoyed collecting pictures of her family and friends and was known to be the oldest and wisest member of the family. After losing her eyesight, she spent most of her time listening to gameshows and Nascar races, and talking on the phone with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Melva (Mike) Jackson, Darla Herbert and Vicki (Donn) Mitchell, and Floyd Hylton; siblings, Marcia (Paul) Scott of Greenfield, Andrea (Eddie) Macy of Fortville, Linda Hornaday of Rushville, Helen (Wayne) Brooks of Fort Wayne, and David (Darlene) Roberts of Michigan; grandchildren, Heather (Marc) Huber, Hilaire Chittum, Jody (Joe) Fortner, Julie Jackson, Lauren Walls, Ryan (Shelley) Herbert, Melia (Ryan) Kelly, Miranda (Adams) Ford, Amanda Ford, Collin Adams, Victoria, Jessica, and John Mitchell; and 13 great-grandchildren; step- grandchildren, Ronnie, Johnny, and Kevin Herbert, and Derek Mitchell; 8 step- great grandchildren; and sister in laws, Norma Roberts of Greenfield, and Ruth Roberts of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Melvin Hylton; 2nd husband, Clarence Middleton; brothers, Charles Roberts, Jack Roberts, James Roberts, Wendell Roberts and Thomas Roberts; sisters, Ethel Harshman and Beverly Swafford; daughter, Joyce Hylton; grandson, Jeffrey Jackson; step grandson, Craig Herbert; and son-in-law, John Herbert.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140, with a funeral service immediately following, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Steve Rayburn will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks when inside our building. We must limit the number of guests at a time and please practice social distancing.
