INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Wildlife Federation recognized Sen. Mike Crider, R-Greenfield, with an award honoring commitment to conservation and the state’s natural resources.

Crider, along with State Rep. Carey Hamilton, D-Indianapolis, was a recipient of the organization’s annual Conservation Champion Award. The award was established to recognize lawmakers who have made significant contributions to the preservation of Indiana’s environment.

“Sen. Crider, a former conservation officer for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, has championed efforts at the statehouse to keep our parks and outdoor recreation areas accessible for all Hoosiers,” the organization said in a press release. “Both lawmakers have demonstrated a clear commitment to conservation as well as the economic and community benefits that accompany it.”

The awards were announced on Jan. 30 during the organization’s virtual wildlife conference.
