Studio 309 offers “I Love You” art event

FORTVILLE — Studio 309, 309 Noel Ave., will host an “I Love You” art event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 6. Create a framed 11” x 12” piece of art that you can give to a special someone. Bring your own beverage; all other supplies will be provided. Register for $35 at Studio 309 on Facebook.

Zig-Zag Corner offers quilling class

GREENFIELD — Not to be confused with quilting, quilling is the art of using of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Zig-Zag Corner Quilts and Baskets will offer a beginning quilling class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the shop at 7872 N. Troy Road. The class is just $5 and includes all supplies. Online chess tutoring available through the library

ONLINE — With the popularity of Netflix’s “The Queen’s Gambit,” the television series about competitive chess, the game has grown in popularity. Brainfuse, available through the Hancock County Public Library’s website at hcplibrary.org/online/, offers, among other things, free chess tutoring from expert players.
