HANCOCK COUNTY — The following Hancock County offices and organizations will be closed on Friday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day:
BMV branches, the Hancock County Public Library, Hancock County government offices and the county courthouse, Greenfield City Hall, Fortville Town Hall, McCordsville Town Hall, Shirley Town Hall, Hancock County Senior Services and the Greenfield office of the Department of Children and Family Services.
The Daily Reporter offices will be closed, and the newspaper will not publish an edition on Friday.
The Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen will not be serving meals on New Year’s Day.
Cumberland and Wilkinson town offices will be closed both Thursday and Friday. New Palestine town offices will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and closed Friday.
Most post offices will close at noon on New Year’s Eve and remain closed on New Year’s Day. The Greenfield post office location will remain open until 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
Trash pickup normally conducted by Fisk Waste Removal or CGS Services on Fridays will take place on Saturday.
