Marilyn A. Redding, age 87, of Fishers, passed away Saturday, November 28, 2020. She was born in Indianapolis on August 4, 1933 to Alva T. and Hester B. (Grinstead) Andis. She graduated from Greenfield High School in 1951 and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from IUPUI.

Marilyn started her early career days doing office work before moving on to medical. Most recently, she worked as an LPN for Tender Care in Indianapolis for many years. She attended Wilkinson Church of Christ and was a past member of the Psi Iota Xi philanthropic sorority in Greenfield. Marilyn enjoyed reading, traveling, and exercising. She had a strong work ethic and passion for taking care of children with disabilities.

She is survived by her long-term companion, Gerald Gouty of Wilkinson; children, Keith (Donna) Redding of Fishers, and Gary (Barbara) Redding of Greenville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Vince (Erin) Redding of Noblesville, Anne (Lee) Johnson of Rockhill, North Carolina, and Joe (Becca) Redding of Charleston, South Carolina; four great-grandchildren; brother Maurice (Mickee) Andis of McCordsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Hester Andis.

Services celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held privately for her family, including a service by the Hancock Health Nurses Honor Service team. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. As a reminder, the government mandate requires guests to wear masks when inside our building. We are limited to a capacity of 50 guests at a time and please practice social distancing.
