Join the library for Cooking Club

GREENFIELD — Teens and adults are invited to join the virtual cooking club on Facebook. To join, go to facebook.com/groups/hcplcookingclub, and click the “Join Group” button. Librarian Nicole Scurlock will post a new themed challenge with a different theme bi-weekly. The cooking challenge for Nov. 9 is “Comfort Food.” Whether hosting or visiting, we all have go-to comfort food recipes for the holidays. Post a dish you prepared that is a must on your holiday menu. Post a photo of something you’ve made related to the current theme, describe your experience in making it and post the recipe for the dish. For more information, email [email protected].

Zig-Zag Corner offers beginning quilting class

GREENFIELD — Join Zig-Zag Corner for its regular feature, “Mystery Block of the Month.” The two-session class meets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 13 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the shop at 7872 N. Troy Road. Register for just $5 at zigzagcorner.com. Each month features a new quilt block with suggestions for making pillows, table runners or quilts of any sizes.

Footlite to audition for ‘Women of Broadway’

INDIANAPOLIS — Footlite Musicals will hold auditions for “Women of Broadway” from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, and 6 to 10 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Hedback Theater at 1847 N. Alabama St. If needed, callbacks will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 9. The staff is seeking a diverse cast of six to 10 actors, all races and gender identities age 16 and older. Masks should be worn to auditions; instructions on how auditions will be held with masks will be explained at auditions. All actors will be asked to wear a mask unless they are singing, and precautions will be taken during rehearsals and performances to ensure the safety of all those involved. Rehearsals will begin the week of Nov. 16. Production dates are Jan. 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 17, 2021. Auditioners should prepare two contrasting songs of 24 to 36 measures to showcase your voice type. Please bring your own sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided for you.
