ALDI grocery store reopening after renovations

GREENFIELD — ALDI is set to reopen at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, after being closed for renovations.

The grocery store, located at 1780 Muskegon Lane, is part of an initiative to remodel and expand more than 1,300 ALDI stores nationwide. Upon reopening, the Greenfield store will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The updated store features an improved layout and more refrigeration to accommodate the recently expanded food selection, according to a news release from the company. The store also features open ceilings, natural lighting and is built with environmentally friendly materials. Like all ALDI stores, the remodeled Greenfield store provides a streamlined shopping experience, but customers will notice the elevated design and improvements throughout.

Funeral home hires 2 new funeral directors

GREENFIELD — Stillinger Family Funeral Home has added two funeral directors to its team to better serve Greenfield and the surrounding area.

Angela Johnson joins the funeral home after serving families in central Indiana for several years. Johnson prides herself on giving her full attention to families and providing unique remembrances for their loved ones. She lives in the McCordsville area and is looking forward to becoming even more involved in the Hancock County community.

The family-owned business also welcomes Clyde Fowler as a funeral director. Fowler recently located to Indiana from Utah with his wife and five boys to be closer to family. Fowler says being a funeral director is his calling, and he was inspired to pursue the career after attending the funeral service of a friend.

RE/MAX realty group refresh veterans memorial

GREENFIELD — In observance of REALTOR Week of Service, several agents from RE/MAX Realty Group volunteered to liven up the landscaping at the Hancock County Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The local agents pulled weeds, cleared debris, planted over a half-dozen mums, re-mulched the flower beds and replaced worn U.S. flags.

The Hancock County Vietnam Veterans Memorial is located at the intersection at State Road 9 and County Road 100S. RE/MAX Realty Group is owned by lifelong Greenfield residents Mark Dudley and Sue Mize.

Lewis Jewelers gets new ownership, rebranded

INDIANAPOLIS — Michael Anderson has purchased Lewis Jewelers on Indianapolis’ east side and re-branded it as MBA Jewelers.

Anderson took an interest in jewelry at age 16 and attended a six-week undergraduate course at Gem City College in Quincy, Illinois. After high school, he returned to get his certificates in hand engraving, jewelry, diamond setting and design. He has worked as a bench jeweler for 27 years, including 20 years for Mark and Rebekah Lewis of Lewis Jewelers.
