Zig-Zag Corner offers quilling class

GREENFIELD – Not to be confused with quilting, quilling is the art of using of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. Zig-Zag Corner Quilts and Baskets will offer a beginning quilling class from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at the shop at 7872 N. Troy Road. The class is just $5 and includes all supplies. Footlite to audition for “Women of Broadway”

INDIANAPOLIS – Footlite Musicals will hold auditions for “Women of Broadway” from 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7 and 6 to 10 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Hedback Theater at 1847 N. Alabama. If needed, callbacks will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9. The staff is seeking a diverse cast of six to ten actors, all races and gender identities age 16 and older. Masks should be worn to auditions; instructions on how auditions will be held with masks will be explained at auditions. All actors will be asked to wear a mask unless they are singing, and precautions will be taken during rehearsals and performances to ensure the safety of all those involved. Rehearsals will begin the week of November 16. Production dates are January 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 and 17, 2021. Auditioners should prepare two contrasting songs of 24 to 36 measures to showcase your voice type. Please bring your own sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided for you. Library offers NaNoWriMo support

HANCOCK COUNTY — Adults and teens are invited to join the Hancock County Public Library’s "NaNoWriMo" group. Participants will meet online as a closed group in "Google Classroom" and share ideas and inspiration for (Na)tional (No)vel (Wri)ting (Mo)nth, celebrated throughout the month of November. The goal of NaNoWriMo is to help writers submit a finished a 50,000-word novel, short story or poem collection, or memoir for online publication by November 30. Writing by yourself can be difficult, even for seasoned writers. The NaNoWriMo group is a safe, friendly and supportive space where colleagues can engage in discussion related to writing projects. Librarian Nicole Scurlock will share inspiration from the NaNoWriMo website as well as anything else that might help the creative process, start conversations, idea sharing and links to helpful resources.
