To the editor:

I am a lifelong resident of Greenfield and a current student at DePauw University. I am writing to you because, as a senior in college, I have begun exploring opportunities on where I would like to live after graduation. I realized that Greenfield never even comes to mind because of one specific reason: There are not enough parks.

Parks are essential to any community. They allow for families, friends, and community members alike to get outside and enjoy the scenery Greenfield has to offer. Parks are especially important for young people. Young people, specifically Generation Z and millennials, are attracted to cities with nice parks and outdoor recreation. If Greenfield wants to continue to grow and attract young folks, the city must invest more into parks and recreation.
