Dealership owner donates van to dog rescue

GREENFIELD — Jeff Inskeep of Inskeep Ford recently donated a van to Fountaintown-based Canine Castaways Rescue Inc.

At an adoption and fundraising event at the dealership, Inskeep presented Canine Castaways founder Shell Christie with the needed transportation for their furry friends and to support their efforts in helping last-chance, injured, stray and surrendered dogs and cats find a forever home.

Wellness centers get new leader

HANCOCK COUNTY — Joel Hungate is the new director of Hancock Wellness Center, which has locations in Greenfield, McCordsville and New Palestine.

The 2007 Eastern Hancock High School alumnus studied biomedical engineering at Purdue University. He has worked in the medical device industry and in early-stage startup innovation, specifically in health care, wellness and sports performance.

Hungate replaces former wellness center director David Flench.

Organization offering downtown improvement grants

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Main Street, Inc. will award a limited number of matching grants, on a competitive basis, up to $3,000 per qualifying property to improve building facades and to promote preservation and rehabilitation of historic downtown structures.

Through the program, Greenfield Main Street seeks to foster enthusiasm and prosperity by improving the appearance of downtown Greenfield.

Home sales, prices rise

HANCOCK COUNTY — Monthly stats from an Indianapolis real estate firm for September 2020 show a 22.6% increase in the number of homes sold in Hancock County. Home sale prices also increased — up 9.1% to an average price of $240,924, compared to year-to-date 2019.

Housing inventory dropped significantly in September, down 47.1%, compared to this time last year, according to F.C. Tucker Company.

Figures for a 16-county central Indiana region saw similar changes. The average September home sale price was $263,215, an increase of 18.2%. The year-to-date average home sale price increased by 10.5%, to $248,896. Available housing inventory dropped 44.7% compared to September 2019. Pended home sales increased 19.1%.

Collision repair chain appoints new regional manager

INDIANA — Riley & Sons, an automotive collision and mechanical repair chain with locations in Greenfield, Anderson, New Castle and Pendleton, has appointed Ricky Robertson as regional manager.

Robertson has worked as the central Indiana operations manager for Safelite Auto Glass before coming home to be a part of the family business, Auto Glass of Indiana. He became president and CEO of the company in 2004 and sold it in 2018. Robertson has worked with companies like Harley-Davidson, Cadillac and BMW in customer experience and leadership development.
