HANCOCK COUNTY — The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported a Hancock County resident’s death related to COVID-19, raising the county’s total fatalities from the virus to 43.

The victim was a woman in her 70s who died on Sept. 19, according to the state health department’s online COVID-19 dashboard.

Hancock County also reported six new novel coronavirus cases on Sept. 21; 186 new tests administered between Aug. 5 and Sept. 21; a 4.1% seven-day positivity rate for all tests between Sept. 9 and 15; and a 4.3% cumulative rate for all tests.

The county’s totals Tuesday stood at 22,260 tests; 15,958 individuals tested; 911 cases; a 6.9% seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals between Sept. 9 and 15; and a 5.7% cumulative rate for unique individuals.

Indiana’s additions were 16,368 tests administered between Feb. 29 and Sept. 21; 6,977 new individuals tested; 652 new cases on Sept. 21; a 4% seven-day positivity rate for all tests between Sept. 9 and 15; a 6% cumulative positivity rate for all tests;and nine new deaths between Sept. 6 and 21.

The state’s totals stood at almost 1.9 million tests administered; more than 1.3 million individuals tested; 112,626 cases; a 6.6% seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals between Sept. 9 and 15; and an 8.6% cumulative positivity rate for unique individuals.

A total of 3,295 Hoosiers have died of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, according to the dashboard data.
