Grocery store getting remodel, expected to finish this fall

GREENFIELD — Work is underway on a remodeling at ALDI that is expected to finish this fall.

Laura Bauer, Greenwood Division vice president at ALDI, told the Daily Reporter in an email that the improvements will result in open ceilings, natural lighting, environmentally friendly building materials and additional storage for more produce, meat and dairy.

Work is planned to be complete in early November. The store will temporarily close on Oct. 11 for finishing touches before reopening the following month.

The Greenfield location of the discount supermarket chain, located at 1780 Muskegon Lane, opened in November 2002. Bauer said it’s one of more than 1,300 stores the company is remodeling nationwide.
