GREENFIELD — The Farmers Market at the Fairgrounds will have produce and homemade items for sale from 8 a.m. to noon on Sept. 5 at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St. The market will feature a variety of vendors who sell seasonal produce, frozen meats, cheeses, butter, eggs, baked goods, honey, maple syrup, barbecue sauce and more. GREENFIELD — Second Friday returns to Greenfield with two events: a car show and the Hometown Heroes Cornhole tournament on Sept. 11. The ‘Cruising Through Summer Cruise-In’ runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Register your vehicle for free at greenfieldmainstreet.org. Food trucks from Nathan’s Hot Dogs and Kona Ice will be on hand selling refreshments. Over on the North Street Living Alley, attendees can help celebrate our Hometown Heroes with a 9/11 commemorative event. A memorial ceremony held by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard Corps will include the playing of Taps, presentation of the flag and a 21-gun salute. American Legion Post 119 will honor a member of the local police and fire departments, and local officials recognize our hometown first responders. FISHERS — A Fishers Labor Day tradition, the annual Fishers Blues Fest returns to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater (NPD AMP) for its eighth year. The free, two-night event includes performances by local and national award-winning blues artists in a first come, first served, limited-capacity outdoor setting with social distancing measures in place due to COVID-19 mandates. Performances are Sept. 4 and 5 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, 6 Municipal Drive. Emceed by Matthew Socey from WFYI, Friday night’s line-up includes: Kyle Bledsoe, The Agents of Redemption, The Tad Robinson Band, and Toronzo Cannon and the Chicago Way. On Saturday night, attendees can enjoy John Ford, Paul Linden & the Icemen, Niki J. Crawford and The Nick Moss Band featuring Dennis Gruenling. Admission is free.
