Republicans OK Jeter to fill Bosma’s term
McCORDSVILLE — Republican precinct committeemen voted unanimously Wednesday night in favor of Chris Jeter filling the remainder of former Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma’s term.
Jeter, a Fishers attorney, was the only candidate for the caucus, which was held at McCordsville Town Hall. He won the Republican primary in June for Indiana House District 88, which includes a portion of Hancock County, including Fortville and McCordsville. He faces Democrat Pam Dechert in the general election in November.
Jeter; his wife, Karen; and Indiana Republican Party State Chairman Kyle Hupfer spoke at the brief caucus.
Bosma stepped down in July after 34 years in the Indiana General Assembly.
