CHARLOTTESVILLE — Indiana FFA has announced Eastern Hancock High School graduate Gracie Johnson as the 2020 State Star in Agribusiness winner at the 91st Indiana FFA State Convention.

Johnson saw a need in her community for high quality dog grooming and rose to the challenge in 2016 when she opened GG’s Grooming. Using the knowledge and skills she had gained through her agricultural classes and FFA experiences, Johnson began her own dog grooming business which has since grown in clientele from 5 to 146 dogs. Gracie is currently a junior at Purdue University studying Agriculture Communications. Her FFA Advisors are Sarah Williams and Diana Arellano.

The State Star award is the highest award an FFA member can earn from the Indiana FFA Association. Award recipients are recognized for their outstanding supervised agricultural experience in one of four categories: Agribusiness, Agriscience, Ag Placement, and Farmer.
