FTC OKs Elanco acquisition of Bayer unit

GREENFIELD — The U.S. Federal Trade Commission unanimously approved Elanco Animal Health Incorporated’s acquisition of Bayer Animal Health, a division of Germany-based Bayer AG.

The FTC decision represents the final antitrust clearance needed to complete the transaction, which continues on track for closing at the beginning of August.

The complementary transaction strengthens Elanco’s Innovation, Portfolio and Productivity strategy by combining the company’s long-standing focus on the veterinarian with Bayer’s direct-to-consumer expertise, according to a news release. In addition, the transaction will advance Elanco’s intentional portfolio transformation, creating a balance between the farm animal and pet health businesses.

Salon opens in new location

GREENFIELD — Posh Salon and Spa is now moved into its newly renovated building downtown.

Business owner Sheila Faut said the establishment opened at 124 W. Main St. on July 1 after operating in a building down the block for about a decade.

Before Posh’s new home was turned into a salon and spa, it housed automotive businesses for many years. It is next door to the Ricks Centre for the Arts

The new spot is about 3,000 square feet bigger, allowing for two more stylists, an esthetician and a nail technician.

Appointments are required for the business’ services due to the COVID-19 pandemic and can be made by calling 317-467-4700.
