William Downing Toppe (Bill), 90, life long Jackson County Indiana resident residing in Prospect KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13th, 2020 surrounded by family at home. He was born on August 18th, 1929 in Jackson County, IN to the late Alvin Christian Toppe and Addie E. Fogelding Toppe. He married Marian L Young on August 1st, 1950 in Jackson County Indiana.
Bill was member of the Uniontown Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and managed the Uniontown Cemetery. He retired after working 38 years as a Certified Auto Mechanic from Mahan Ford in Columbus Indiana. After retiring Bill enjoyed working on and restoring antique automobiles.
His survivors include his spouse, Marian Toppe of Prospect KY, and children, Marsha Falk of Lake Forrest CA, Deborah (Michael) Murphy of Louisville KY, and Bryan (Tammy) Toppe of Prospect KY, five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Steven Wayne Toppe, infant son Mark Kevin Toppe, and brother Lawrence Henry Toppe.
A private graveside service for the immediate family will be conducted at a future date. Memorial contributions can be given to the Uniontown Baptist Church in Uniontown, Indiana.
