INDIANAPOLIS — Two New Palestine teens — Alexander Berkemeier and Nathanael Romans — were among the more than 750 students who recently graduated from Indiana Connections Academy.

The academy is a K-12 virtual charter school authorized by Ball State University.

“The Class of 2020 has shown a tremendous amount of perseverance, dedication and grit during these trying times,” said the academy’s executive director, Chandre Sanchez Reyes. “While the world was adjusting to sudden changes, our graduates were able to complete their senior year academically uninterrupted.”

The academy has seen over 3,000 students graduate in the past ten years. The school reports that two-third of graduates plan to attend two- or four-year colleges or universities.
