Backpack Bash offers school supplies

GREENFIELD — Apostolic Pentecostal Church will have the Back-to-School Backpack Bash from 1 to 3 p.m. July 25 at the church, 1202 E. Fifth St.

The church offers school supplies at the annual event. According to a post on the church, “From kindergarten through college & continuing education, we’ll help give you a start to the new school year!”

Hope House shares list of sought-after donations

GREENFIELD — Hope House Executive Director Andrea Mallory recently shared what would be particularly helpful to donate to the shelter. She shared the list during remarks to Greenfield Rotary.

Here are the most-needed items: postage stamps, paper towels, toilet paper, 55-gallon trash bags, tall kitchen trash bags, gallon-size storage bags, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner, dish soap, Pledge dusting cleaner, pillows, twin XL comforters, hairbrushes, sugar, coffee and any canned meats (such as tuna or chicken).

The shelter is located at 35 E. Pierson St.

Furniture ministry hopes to build storage barn

GREENFIELD — Hancock County Community Foundation has offered a matching 1:1 grant to Faith Baptist Church to build a storage barn for the Furniture Ministry.

Love INC works closely with the church by communicating needs and identifying those willing to donate appliances and furniture. The storage units are full; Love INC is turning items away that there will be a need for in the community later.

Pantry open weekly in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — Angel Connection Food Pantry continues to distribute food to those in need in the community. Non-perishable food or hygiene items are still accepted to restock the pantry, housed in McCordsville United Methodist Church.
