Jack F. “Arky” Horton, 71, of Fortville, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at IU Saxony Hospital. He was born February 7, 1949 in Snowball, Arkansas to Ted & Ina Bethel (Honeycut) Horton.
Arky came to Indiana from Arkansas at the age of 16. He formed G & H Drywall with his partner Woody Gibson and operated it for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching westerns & NASCAR. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Jack is survived by his wife: Bonnie (Adams) Horton whom he married on August 8, 2005; children: James E. Horton of Fortville, Janet & Jackie Horton of Greenfield; step-children: Jeffrey & Toby Rowland of Indianapolis; grandchildren: Jesse (Jean) Grady, Nicholas (Carly) Horton, Braden Garretson, Quincy Rowland, Heather (Troy) Harper, Shana Stutz & Harlow Rowland; 3 great-grandsons & 2 great-granddaughters; sisters: Jan Gray, Shirlene Reves & Loraine (Ron) Turney, numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brothers T.J. Horton, James Paul Ray Horton & John T. Horton and sisters; Kathy E. McEntire & Isa Lea Hensley.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 28, 2020 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fortville. A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 5 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s honor to the Greenfield County Conservation Club 1000 W. 400 N. Greenfield, In 46140.
