State adds COVID-19 death to county’s total

HANCOCK COUNTY — The Indiana State Department of Health reported Tuesday that another Hancock County resident has died from COVID-19, raising the total to 28.

According to the department’s online COVID-19 dashboard, the fatality was a man 80 or older who died on May 23.

The Hancock County Health Department reported it was working to get more details on the death. 

The state also reported Tuesday that Hancock County’s COVID-19 case total rose to 345, an increase of six from the day before. Tests for which results have been received for county residents stood at 3,730, the latest 77 of which spanning from May 15 to June 1.

Indiana’s COVID-19 totals Tuesday stood at 35,237 cases, 2,022 deaths and 271,919 tests.
