FOUNTAINTOWN
Norma Elaine (Eck) Sanders, age 72, of Fountaintown, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on December 16, 1947 to Gerald Wayne and Freda A. (Crane) Eck. She graduated from Triton Central in 1966 and received her Masters in Education from Ball State University in 1970.
She was a teacher at New Palestine High School and Doe Creek Middle School for many years before retiring in 2005. Norma was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, antiques, butterflies, animals, old barns, and being outside. Norma most of all loved being a mom to her precious children and going to all of their activities.
Norma is survived by her husband, Johnny Sanders of Fountaintown; children, Charity Sanders, Nevaeh Sanders, and Jon Marcus Sanders all of Fountaintown; sisters, Karen Lindsay of Greenfield and Jan (Steve) Smith of New Palestine; and five nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Freda A. Eck; and a brother-in-law, Don Lindsay.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church, 1880 W. 900 N., Fountaintown, IN 46130. During the visitation and service, please wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
