5 more COVID-19 cases for Hancock County

HANCOCK COUNTY — The Indiana State Department of Health reported Thursday that 218 Hancock County residents have tested positive for COVID-19, an increase of five from figures reported the day before.

COVID-19 deaths in the county remained at nine; 35 tests for which results have been received were added, for a total of 1,551.

The state has 17,835 cases as of the latest data available on Thursday. Almost 670 cases were recorded between April 22 and April 29. Statewide deaths tallied 1,007, 44 of which were recorded between April 7 and April 29. Total tests for Indiana stood at 94,998.

The latest data available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday totaled COVID-19 cases across the U.S. at 1,005,147 and deaths at 57,505.
