Tyler Combs, the Greenfield-Central High School grad who’s now a student at Indiana University, advanced to the semifinal round in the “Jeopardy!” College Championship on Friday night.
Combs easily defeated two other contestants, finishing with $28,400. He could not be caught heading into Final Jeopardy, where he lost $800 for a wrong answer.
That was about the only misstep of his appearance, as he broke open a fairly tight game in Double Jeopardy with a run of correct answers that ballooned his score and put the game out of reach.
The next round in the tournament begins Monday. The show airs at 7:30 p.m. on WTHR-TV (Channel 13).
