County cases, reported tests up slightly

HANCOCK COUNTY — One new COVID-19 case raised Hancock County’s total to 100 on Thursday.

The Indiana State Department of Health also reported 569 COVID-19 tests for which results have been received in Hancock County as of late Wednesday night, an increase of nine from the day before. Hancock County’s death count from the disease remained at two.

Statewide, cases rose more than 400 to 6,351, deaths rose more than 40 to 245 and total reported tests rose more than 1,200 to 32,133.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday that nationwide COVID-19 cases rose almost 20,700 to 395,011 and deaths rose almost 700 to 12,754.
