Children’s, youth ministries reach out online

HANCOCK COUNTY — Area churches are not only streaming their services; many are also offering content for children and youth.

-Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Greenfield offers a children’s lesson time video on Sunday mornings on the church’s Facebook page.

-Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield posts teen services. Visit bethelbcg.org and click on “Youth Uknighted.”

-Brandywine Community Church in Greenfield has assembled children’s resources, including a lesson and activities, available through the church’s free app.

-Brookville Road Community Church in New Palestine posts youth messages at www.brookvilleroad.cc/youthonline and elementary lesson videos at www.brookvilleroad.cc/childrenonline.

-Community Christian Church posts children’s lesson plans, including a craft idea and coloring page, on its Facebook page “@cccnewpalestine.”

-Harvest Church in Mt. Comfort offers Kids Time at 10:30 a.m. Sundays via Zoom and youth group online at 6 p.m. Sunday. Text 317-210-1800 for information on either.

Some churches, including Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Greenfield, are referring people to the Facebook page “Weekly Worship 2020,” where people can find messages and music.

No internet? You can still find services

-Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield has a television program, “The Living Word,” at 10:30 a.m. Sundays and 7:30 a.m. Thursdays on WHMB (Channel 40).

-Outlook Christian Church in McCordsville is willing to deliver audio CDs of services by request. The church’s phone number is 317-335-6815.

-Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church is willing to make DVDs of services. Call 317-524-8486.

-Catholic Radio Indy (89.1FM and 90.9 FM) broadcasts a daily Mass at 8 a.m. each day from the Eternal Word Television Network chapel in Irondale, Alabama.

Pantry still open in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — Angel Connection Food Pantry continues to distribute food to those in need in the community. Non-perishable food or hygiene items are still accepted to restock the pantry, housed in McCordsville United Methodist Church.

Angel Connection Food Pantry continues to be open from 9 to 10 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. Anyone needing assistance will need to call Donna Foster at 317-219-9157 before those Wednesdays.

Celebrate Recovery available online

GREENFIELD —The Celebrate Recovery group at Brandywine Community Church streams online teaching at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays on ibcc.tv or the church’s Facebook page.

Shirley church offers sack lunches

SHIRLEY — Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church hands out carry-out sack lunches between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from the church at 309 South St., Shirley. The Rev. Rick Hutston said the church was planning a summer lunch program, but “since the schools are closed now we have decided to go forward.” The church’s food pantry also remains available; those needing assistance should call the church office first at (765) 738-6710.

Wellspring Center has drive-through pantry

GREENFIELD — Wellspring Center at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield, has begun a drive-through food pantry on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Donate non-perishable foods, paper and cleaning products, toiletry items and pet food to the center during the pantry hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays.
