Service viewing options abound

HANCOCK COUNTY — Many local churches have posted service videos online to help parishioners worship in their homes while congregations refrain from gathering in large groups. Here are some of the options.

Online:

-Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Greenfield posts service videos at apcgi.org/live.

-Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield posts services at www.bethelbcg.org and on the church’s Facebook page.

-Faith Apostolic Church in Greenfield posts sermons at http://www.growinginfaith.org/online-sermons

-Grace Baptist Church in Mohawk posts sermons at http://www.growatgrace.org/live.

-Hancock Reformed Baptist Church posts its most recent sermon on its site, hrbchurch.org. Click on that title to visit the archive of sermons.

-A weekly homily by the Rev. Aaron Jenkins, priest at St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield, will be posted online at www.stmichaelsgrfld.org/father-s-homilies.

-The Archdiocese of Indianapolis offers a list of options for viewing oniline Masses at www.archindy.org/worship/coronavirus2020-streaming.html

-Find Mass by entering a zip code of the area which you choose to access Mass programming for at https://www.heartofthenation.org/where-to-watch. It provides viewing times, channels, and associated networks/stations.

Your church not streaming? Some churches, including Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Greenfield, are referring people to the Facebook page “Weekly Worship 2020,” where people can find messages and music.

No internet? You can still find services

-Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield has a television program, “The Living Word,” at 10:30 a.m. Sundays and 7:30 a.m. Thursdays on WHMB (Channel 40).

-Outlook Christian Church in McCordsville is willing to deliver audio CDs of services by request. The church’s phone number is 317-335-6815.

-Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church is willing to DVDs of services . Call 317-524-8486.

-Catholic Radio Indy (89.1FM and 90.9 FM) broadcasts a daily Mass at 8 a.m. each day from the Eternal Word Television Network chapel in Irondale, Alabama.

Pantry still open in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — Angel Connection Food Pantry continues to distribute food to those in need in the community. Non-perishable food or hygiene items are still accepted to restock the pantry, housed in McCordsville United Methodist Church.

Angel Connection Food Pantry continues to be open from 9 to 10 a.m. the second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Anyone needing assistance will need to call Donna Foster at 317-219-9157 before those Wednesdays.

Celebrate Recovery goes online

GREENFIELD —The Celebrate Recovery group at Brandywine Community Church will stream online teaching at 6:30 p.m. Thursday on ibcc.tv or the church’s facebook page.

Blood drive set for Wednesday

McCORDSVILLE — A blood drive is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McCordsville United Methodist Church, 6247 W. Broadway, McCordsville.

“Blood shortages are at a critical level. We are opening our doors to host a blood drive,” the church posted on its website, mmcordsvilleumc.org. “Extra precautions will be taken to keep everyone a safe distance apart.”

Shirley church offers sack lunches

SHIRLEY — Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church hands out carry-out sack lunches between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from the church at 309 South St., Shirley. The Rev. Rick Hutston said the church was planning a summer lunch program, but “since the schools are closed now we have decided to go forward.” The church’s food pantry also remains available; those needing assistance should call the church office first at (765) 738-6710.

Wellspring Center has drive-through pantry

GREENFIELD — Wellspring Center at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road, Greenfield, will begin a drive-through food pantry on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday (March 30).

Donate non-perishable foods, paper and cleaning products, toiletry items and pet food to the center during the pantry hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Mondays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays.
