GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Community Foundation provided $5,000 grants to the following organizations out of its newly established Heart for Hancock:

Hancock County Food Pantry; Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen; and the Salvation Army of Hancock County.

These grants are designed to meet the most pressing needs of organizations directly serving individuals in the community most impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak, according to a statement by the foundation, which surveyed nonprofits serving Hancock County to identify areas of need.

Heart for Hancock, recently established by the foundation, will allow it to mobilize charitable dollars to local organizations serving Hancock County.

The community foundation also made grants totaling $7,646.50 each from its field of interest funds, to four organizations dedicated to animal welfare: Frenzy Animal Rescue; Greenfield Hancock Animal Management; Hancock County Humane Society; and Partners for Animal Welfare Society.
