GREENFIELD — A teacher for Greenfield-Central schools has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, the Hancock County Health Department and the school system announced late Thursday afternoon, March 19.

The teacher, who is not from Hancock County, works at Greenfield Intermediate School, which has an enrollment of 528 students, according to the Department of Education.

The patient last had contact with others at the school on March 9, the county health department said.

The health department is asking any students, teachers or staff from the school who may have experienced symptoms since March 9 to begin a quarantine and contact their health-care provider first. They should also contact the county health department at 317-477-1125.

The health department will work to identify all the people the patient was in contact with at the school on March 9, the health department said.
