SHIRLEY — The Jane Ross Reeves Octagon House in Shirley recently received a $1,000 grant from the The Hancock County Community Foundation. The funds will be used to help seal-coat the parking lot and driveway to preserve the quality of the asphalt at the Octagon House, which anchors many of the town of Shirley’s community activities. The grant came from the foundation’s Enrichment Fund, a pool of funds that is set aside each year to meet nonprofit organizations’ needs that arise outside of the major grant cycles.
