Audition held for musical ‘Little Shop of Horrors’

GREENFIELD — The Ricks Weil Theatre Co. will hold auditions for the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” from 7 to 9 p.m. March 15 and 17 at the H. J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St. “Little Shop of Horrors” tells the story of the relationship between a lonely florist and an unusual plant that gets out of hand. Performances are June 5, 6, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21. Tuttle Orchards offers hanging basket workshop

GREENFIELD — Tutlle Orchards, 5717 N. County Road 300 W., will present hanging basket workshops at 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. on March 14. This workshop allows you to build a hanging basket in March, leave it at Tuttle Orchards for care and nurturing through March and April and pick it up in May when it’s ready to be outside. For the one-hour workshop, participants will choose from one of six basket options to plant a 12″ hanging basket. Both shade and sun combos will be available to choose from. Participants will learn the process for planting, fertilizing and caring for baskets. The $45 cost for the class includes all materials for one basket, instruction and care of basket until May. Hancock Flat 50 bicycle ride open for registration

HANCOCK COUNTY — Sign up for the 2020 Hancock Flat 50 bicycle ride at hancockflat50.com. This year’s race will be held Aug. 29 over a 25-mile route or a 50-mile route. A new feature for this year’s ride is for cold weather group ride spin classes at the Hancock Wellness Center. Hancock Arts offers pen-making workshop

GREENFIELD — Want to make a wooden ink pen? Register to attend a wooden ink pen workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28 at the Twenty North Gallery, 20 N. State St. Artist Jennifer Flynn will guide participants through turning an ink pen on a lathe, sanding it and adding friction polish for shine. The class cost of $65 includes everything needed to make your own custom-made pen. Children age 12 and over welcome with accompanying adult. Space is limited.
