FORTVILLE – The Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation announces kindergarten registration dates. Registration may be done at any of the three elementary schools from noon to 7 p.m. April 6 at Fortville Elementary, 8414 N. County Road 200 W.; April 7 at McCordsville Elementary, 7177 N. County Road 600 W.; and April 9 at Mt. Comfort Elementary, 5694 W. County Road 300 N.
Children need to be in attendance for vision, hearing and academic skills. Parents or guardians should also bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate, a copy of the child’s immunization record, proof of residency (a utility bill, mortgage statement, HUD statement or lease agreement), a driver’s license or state-issued ID card, a copy of court papers regarding any custody arrangement and the student individual education plan if applicable.
