Brashear has been charged with a Level 6 felony count of possession of meth; and two misdemeanors.

According to the affidavit, the deputy ran the plate on a vehicle he was following and learned it had been stolen. He stopped it on North Street between Baldwin and Howard Streets.

Officers from the Greenfield Police Department arrived on the scene, and the occupants were ordered out of the car.

During a search of the car, police found a syringe and a plastic bag that contained a powdery residue substance that later field-tested positive for meth, the report said. Police also found paraphernalia, pills, a digital scale and more residue.

The two suspects were transported to the Hancock County Jail where they sat until they were officially charged Monday, Feb. 24, in Hancock County Superior Court 2. Brashear was given a $5,000 cash bond, while Troxell was given a $2,000 cash bond. Both were still in jail as of press time Tuesday.
