Teens can create shrink-art selfies

GREENFIELD — Teens in grades 6 to 12 can create a Shrinky-Dinks® version of themselves from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. The library will provide the basic shape and shrinky-dink know-how, and teens can transform a moveable plastic figure to their likeness. No registration is required for this free event. Come to the library’s GBC Community Room B.

Hedgehog Hannah’s live animals will visit both libraries

GREENFIELD/NEW PALESTINE — "Hedgehog Hannah" presenter Paul Venckus will bring live animals on Feb. 15 to the Hancock County Public Library’s Sugar Creek Branch in New Palestine, 5731 W. U.S. Highway 52 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 2 to 3:15 p.m. to the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Attendees can learn about arctic foxes, snakes, hedgehogs and more during these hands-on, interactive shows. Venckus will share the amazing wonders of the animal kingdom, both the cute and not so cute. Hedgehog Hannah’s goal is to help conserve wildlife through education. They teach about the importance of rescuing, researching before adding a new pet to the family, and most importantly, keeping as many animals in the wild as we can. Touchstone Energy Camp offers scholarships

GREENFIELD — NineStar Connect will sponsor two students at the annual Touchstone Energy Camp to be held June 3 – 6, at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston. Students entering 7th grade in the fall of 2020 are eligible to attend and will be selected by their local cooperative to participate in the three-day program. The students’ agenda will combine traditional outdoor camp activities with environmental education, electrical safety practices and cooperative business education.
