Fortville churches to gather at one service

FORTVILLE — Fortville Christians Unite plans a community worship service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Mt. Vernon High School auditorium, 8100 block of North County Road 200 West.

There will be live music featuring multiple church worship leaders.

Workshops coming to Bethel

GREENFIELD — Love INC and Hancock County Extension Homemakers have been offering a series of workshops on building life skills each Monday in January.

The remaining class on Jan. 27 is interviewing for a job.

Classes take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Greenfield. All classes are free and open to the public.

Sessions focus on money management

GREENFIELD — Looking to get your budget on track in the new year? Love INC will present a series of workshops focused on money management and “creative financing.”

Four classes will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Church 52, located at 8220 Brookville Road in Indianapolis. The dates for the workshops are Jan. 30, Feb. 6, Feb. 20 and March 5. All sessions are free. Topics covered will include income and expenses, budgeting, savings and freedom from debt.

Ministry continues to spread warmth

GREENFIELD — During its weekly winter visits to those in need, including people living who are homeless and living outdoors, God’s Open Arms offers warm clothes, candles and other items.

It can use coats, sweatshirts, gloves, blankets, handwarmers, men’s underwear, men’s socks, thermal underwear, handwarmers and candles.

Donated items are accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Family Auto Repair, 201 E. North St., Greenfield.

Ministry collecting household goods

HANCOCK COUNTY — Families are not able to get cleaning supplies and paper products with food stamps. Love INC’s H2O ministries provide these items for families that are referred and scheduled through the Love INC Clearinghouse. A group of volunteers at Realife Church, at St. James Lutheran in Greenfield and at Fortville Church of the Nazarene meet with the families to assist with their needs.

The ministry could use more of the following items: paper towels, tissues, laundry soap, dryer sheets, all-purpose cleaner, baby wipes, mouthwash and diapers.

You can drop items off on weekday mornings at the Love INC office, 630 N. State St. Or take them to Realife, 971 W. U.S. 40, Monday through Thursday.
