Clifty Falls State Park celebrates 100th anniversary

MADISON — Clifty Falls State Park kicks off a celebration of its 100th anniversary as a state park Jan. 24-26 with activities and a weekend getaway special.

The weekend starts with a live Birds of Prey program on Friday night. Saturday will include a winter wildlife hike, programs on mushrooms and fossils and a caravan tour to see the park’s four main waterfalls. The weekend event schedule concludes on Sunday with a bird hike and winter luminary workshop. Throughout the weekend visitors can enjoy Clifty Inn’s food, socialize and wander through historic downtown Madison.

Advance registration is required by calling the park naturalist at (812) 273-0609. All other programs are free except for a $2/person fee for the Live Birds of Prey program and a $5 fee for the luminary workshop.
