GREENFIELD — Hancock County Master Gardeners recently awarded scholarships to two Hancock County students. Sam Bricker and Calista Overman each received $750 to apply toward their college education for the 2019-2020 school year.

Bricker, the son of Jeff and Michelle Bricker of Greenfield, graduated from Eastern Hancock High School and is a sophomore at Lake Land College in Mattoon, Illinois. He is majoring in agricultural systems management and plans to transfer to Purdue University for his junior and senior years. He has a strong interest in farming and photography.

Overman graduated from Greenfield-Central High School and is a sophomore in Pathways to Purdue Agricultural. She will attend Ivy Tech for two years, followed by four years at Purdue. She is taking Purdue classes while at Ivy Tech and will graduate in four years. Overman is majoring in agricultural education and plans to become a teacher. Her parents are Tim and Cheryl Overman of Greenfield.
