GREENFIELD
Carolyn Sue (Smith) Blevins, age 76, of Greenfield, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on April 19, 1943 to Melvin Earl Smith and Susan M. (Mann) Smith. She graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1960. She married her best friend and love of her life Jerry L. Blevins on August 3, 1962 in Indianapolis.
She was a loving housewife and devoted mother. Carolyn was also a past member of Harbor Shores Church in Cicero, IN and enjoyed reading in her spare time. Carolyn nurtured her children in what it truly means to show Christ’s love to others. She cared for people and had a servant’s heart. Her home was always open to friends and neighbors. Carolyn led by example by trusting in the Lord with all her heart and not leaning on her own understanding. She acknowledged the Lord’s presence in all her actions, and He directed her paths.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jerry Blevins; children, Cindy Huff, Jerry (Tonya) Blevins, Linda McIntosh, Lisa (Richard) Murphy, Carolyn (George) Huff, and Melissa (John) Tennant; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 6:30 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church. Jameson Supan and Pastor Roger Kinion will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Calvary Baptist, Haiti Missions, 1450 W. Main St, Greenfield, IN 46140 or envelopes will be available at the church. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
