Walk with a Doc program promotes healthy habits

GREENFIELD — Walk with a Doc is a free walking program for everyone interested in taking steps for a healthier lifestyle. Join in at 5:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month, November through April, at Hancock Wellness Center, 888 W. New Road. Water is available for participants, and prizes are available. You Matter art series offers mixed media class

FORTVILLE – At Home With Us – Indiana, 202 S. Main St., offers a mixed media workshop at 6:30 p.m. Jan 3. “Time to Pause” is part of the "You Matter" mixed media course series. Participants can make a piece of personal art to start off the year using Mod Podge, paint, stencils and transfer to create a 14 by 11 inch canvas. The $25 registration fee covers all materials. Learn the sport of curling

FISHERS – For something completely different, the Circle City Curling Club will host a “Learn to Curl” clinic from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 3 at the Fuel Tank at Fishers, 9022 E. 126th St. The $40 registration fee includes an overview of safety instructions, curling rules, warm-up stretches and ice time where participants will learn how to deliver the stone, sweep a stone along with basic strategy and scoring. Attendees are advised to dress for temperatures of between 35 and 45 degrees.
